My story with computers started when I was 8 years old — after hours in a school hall, learning basic programming on a Commodore 64. While most kids were outside, I was completely absorbed in that screen, fascinated by what code could do. That spark never left.
I went on to study Computer Science at James Cook University while working as a technician in my family's computer shop, PCSNQ. It was the best education I could have asked for — theory in the classroom, real-world practice on real machines, every single day.
After university I moved into corporate IT, managing technology for a large Townsville accounting firm. I learned just how much businesses depend on their systems running reliably — and how much trust clients place in the person looking after them.
In January 2012, I took the leap and registered Uptime IT Solutions. Now 14 years on, I've built a business I'm genuinely proud of — grown through repeat clients, referrals, and a reputation for always going above and beyond.
